Who doesn’t love a thick, tender slice of Grade A prime beef?

A steak town at its roots, Houston welcomes RARE – a festival centered around the juicy cuts of the Wild West. For one evening, the best restaurants in the city will come together and dish up their highest-quality steak bites paired perfectly with steak-worthy cocktails.

RARE will serve as a one-of-a-kind competition among Houston’s finest steakhouses. Pitted head-to-head, 20+ of the region’s most acclaimed steak purveyors will put their grilling expertise to the test as they vie for the title of Top Steak.

You can help decide which steak reigns supreme, as competitors aim to garner the most votes from a panel of professional judges and our festival attendees.

Chefs can try to win the hearts of the city’s steak lovers with a tried-and-true classic in the “Traditional Steak” category, or throw caution to the wind and get inventive in the “Creative Steak” category. All restaurants will enter a signature cocktail to complement their plates to up the ante – because what’s a great steak without something delicious to wash it down?
